To my eyes, this color scheme of white letters on a pale gray background is very hard to read, or perhaps illegible.
Why would you want to make it hard for customers to see everything except what is selected? They need to see the unselected ones to pick out what they want if they have already selected what they want. If they have trouble seeing the choices, they're likely to leave the site instead of buying something, and perhaps take to their blog to gripe about the bad site design.
It also laughs in the face of meeting accessibility needs.
